• ​​​​​​​​​Do not panic and do not suck and squeese
• Wash off the area under running water
• Do not use any disinfectant over affected side
• Inform to incharge of ward and infection control nurse.
• Post exposure prophylaxis has to be starte.
• Interval of needle stick follow up will be,   

1. If patient is negative no further actoon required
2. HIV : At the time of injury, six weeks and six month
3. HCV: At the time of injury, six weeks and six month
4. HBV:At the time of injury, six weeks and seven month
5. If patient is negative but infected persons Anti Hbs titre is <10 then follow up up to at the time of injury and seven month
