Hypothesis Testing Challenge #2-Discussion Board Group 3 Is there a significant difference between the mean age of people surveyed at the Home Show and the mean age of people surveyed at Pybus Market? From My on-campus statistics classes have been conducting surveys for Pybus Market in Wenatchee. The Fall 2014 surveyed customers at Pybus Market to learn more about customer demographics and inform marketing and funding strategies. The Winter 2015 class surveyed people at the Home Show to learn how many people know about Pybus Market and why they come (or don't come) Use these results to conduct a hypothesis test that addresses the following: Age Data.pdt Pybus 2-Sample Initial Post: Conduct a hypothesis test to test the claim. Due Friday, May 24 1. State what type of test you'll be test of proportion?) 2 Conduct a complete hypothesis test using the traditional method (z-scores, not p-values). You can use the Test feature of your calculator to compute the test z-score conducting. (Two sample test of the mean or Two sample t but be sure to got the test score, by hand or with calculator. Test at the.05 significance level. can use the sample standard deviation to approximate the population standard deviation. (Hint You'll need to compute the weighted mean and sample standard deviation for each data set.) Step 1: Null and Alternative hypotheses Step 2: Critical z-score (state where you got this) Step 3: Test z-score (state how you got this) Step 4: Decision. Include a picture of the normal curve with the rejection region, critical and test scores labeled. You can draw this and take a picture or use technology to draw and label. Step 5: Summary-what can you conclude about the ages of the people in the two studies? "Looking for math symbols? In the tool bar of the Reply box, you'll find a rsymbol (between the tree and the books). Click on that to access what you need. Second Post: Corrections to your hypothesis test, if needed. Due Tuesday, May 28 1. Look at other students' hypothesis test and review your own. 2. If needed, post a brief explanation of what you did wrong and your corrected hypothesis test Feel free to post more than twice to this assignment. You may want to ask a classmate a question about his or her hypothesis test before making changes to yours.
