Answer: The patient needs to understand the complication of diabetes. The nurse has to assess the blood sugar level of the patient. Patient should have known about the insulin and glucose level requirement in body and due excess of sugar in the blood may lead to many other diseases. Due to high sugar level the patient's kidney, nerves, blood vessels, and organs can be damaged.

She needs to include a healthy diet which has low carbs and sugar. She should try to avoid caffeinated drinks and junk food. Foods having low glycemic value should be taken regularly. She should drink water regulary and should be hyderated. High blood sugar level causes pressure on the kidney filtration rate.
