risks and benefits of HT.

Indication of hormone therapy.

• Women treating for menopausal symptoms
• Women with early menopause.
• Women under 60 with risk of osteoporosis

Benefits

• Treat ischemic heart disease.
• Relieve menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disturbance.
• Reduce vasomotor symptoms.
• Improvement in mood changes.
• Improves urogenital symptoms after menopause.
• Reduce risk of osteoporosis.
• Avoid risk of colorectal cancer
• Reduce risk of Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

• Thromboembolic disease( venous thromboembolism and pulmonary embolism)
• Stroke
• Breast Cancer
• Endometrial Cancer
• Diseases to the gall bladder.

Adverse effects

• Oestrogen replacement therapy: headache, bloating,nausea, breast tenderness,leg cramps.
• Progesterone: like premenstrual symptoms ( back pain, pelvic pain, depression etc)
• Monthly regular bleeding .
