As we know that for d orbital the value of n that is principal quantum number starts from 3 so first set of d orbital is 3d then 4d and so on. The angular quantum number that is l is 2 with two angular nodes for each orbital. For the magnetic quantum number there are five choices due to which five different d orbitals arises,as each orbital can occupy 2 electrons with opposite spin so in total d orbital can hold 10 electrons.
