Value based reimbursement is a form of reimbursement that ties payment for care delivery to the quality of care provided and reward provoder for both efficiency and effectiveness. Some of the pitfalls and problems with value based reimbursement are:-

- great dependency between the buyer and the supplier.

- increased vulnerability of supply

- increased risk of supply interruption.

- difficulty to design programs to encourage intended behaviour while preventing unintended behaviour.

- may undeirmine the healthcare professionals intrinsic motivation to provide quality care .

- may fail to motivate system level changes to improve population health.

These issues can be solved by applying for the reimbursement the day you finish the treatment or if you come from another place then apply for the reimbursement the next day because reimbursement takes time so, better to pay first to avoid unnecessary delay .
