Jaden’s weight has been stable at 150 lb. The total energy and protein content of Jaden’s current diet is 3200 kcal and 155 g of protein (19% of total energy intake supplied by protein). This diet is representative of the types and amounts of food that Jaden chooses on a regular basis. The trainer at the center has recommended a protein drink to help Jaden build muscle mass.

College student means around 20 years old boy

Weight =150 lb or 68 Kg

Total energy of his diet = 3200Kcal

Total protein intake = 155g

Jaden does hard muscular activities and is doing power lifting.

Usually the protein intake per day for a normal man is 0.8 g per kg body weight, so for a Jaden’s age boy the protein need is around 55gm per day.

But Jaden is a muscle builder, so they need around 2g/ kg body weight protein.

So the protein need for Jaden is 2× 68 = 136 gm

He is already taking 155 gm protein daily.

So he doesn’t need more protein supplement.

Also over intake of protein will cause over burden on vital organs like liver and kidneys. Also the risk of coronary heart disease is more in people having over intake of protein and fats.
