Has your perspective of on-line learning changed since you started taking this class? If so, how?

How do you compare on-line learning with in-class learning? Which do you prefer?

Yes, my perspective of online learning has changed. I have thought that online learning will help me to learn independently and would be convenient, but it has inadequate human interactions making it difficult to clear doubts and raise questions regarding subject matter.
Difference between online learning and in class learning based on the following areas:
• Flexibility: The major benefit in online learning is flexibility. It is very useful for people who have commitments with work and family. It can be taken at any convenient time rather than a scheduled lecture time. There is a weekly format in which the students read the materials and complete assignments prior to the next week session. This format gives ample time for the students and they can do it according to their time convenience. Whereas in in-class learning the students has to attend classes in specific time which is inconvenient for people who work. But still there are options like evening classes and weekend classes.
• Discipline: In online learning the students should have high levels of self motivation. They should strictly follow strategies to do their course work and assignments on time. In case of in-class learning discipline and self motivation is higher because they have a structured schedule and face to face interactions with the instructors.
• Social interaction: In online learning there is minimum social interaction with instructors. The interaction will be through video calls or online discussion chats. There is maximum social interactions with instructors and other students. This helps in motivating the students.
In my opinion I would prefer in-class learning as it is more motivating and convenient and will provide discipline and scheduled course format.
