1. Preparation

Personally speaking, preparing for an interview is a cumbersome task as it is an extensive process starting from researching the organization, preparing the resume, thinking ahead for the possible interview questions, etc till we attend the interview. Out of all the six tasks, the two tasks that are easier for me are tasks (5) present a professional image with businesslike clothing and good grooming, and (6) arrive on time and ready to begin. We are aware that a business interview requires formal clothing and good grooming. Hence, we might have them ready to be able to attend the interviews in a professional manner. Secondly, since we know the place of interview, we would be able to reach the location on time and ready to begin the interview.

I believe that the two tasks that require most attention while preparing for the interview are tasks (2) think ahead about questions you’ll need to answer and any other questions you’ll want to ask, (3) boost your confidence by focusing on your strengths and preparing thoroughly. This is because we need to think critically from the standpoint of the interviewer of the possible questions that might be asked. It is also pertinent that we focus on the strengths and prepare thoroughly according to the job requirement. Key words in job description can be used in such scenarios.

2. Interview Stages

The three stages of interview are introduction, question and answer session, and finally the close of the interview. I believe that the most important among the three is the question and answer session as the candidate would be evaluated based on the answers. The potential candidate has just few minutes of the interview to impress the interviewer that he/she is the right candidate for the job. Personally speaking, I excel in the question and answer session as most of my answers are based on real-life experiences and the key focus of my answer is to ensure that the answer fits the interviewer’s expectations.

3. Interview Questions

Give an example of a behavior interview question- A classic example of behavioral question is “Describe a stressful situation that you came across in your workplace and how you handled it” or “Tell me how you handle pressure”.

4. Follow-Up

In addition to displaying strong communication skills and business etiquette, why are follow- up messages important? : Follow-up messages after the interview are very important. Following up with the hiring manager is most important part of the interview because you have the opportunity to highlight your qualifications implying that you are suitable for the job, exhibiting your interest and enthusiasm for the role and also you have the chance to mention any of the important details that was not mentioned during the interview session.
