Use this space to give some tips in increasing the healthy fats in the diet. For example... if you must fry foods, try coconut (high heat) or olive oil (low heat)... try substituting ground tofu for beef... increase the legumes, beans, fish, seeds, avocados and nuts in your diet, etc. Let's see what works for you guys!
There is some discrepancy over the previous villianization of saturated fats with new studies showing that natural occurring saturated fats (such as those in butter, meat and coconut oil) are actually NOT dangerous and are not linked to CVD disease, obesity and high blood fat levels like previously reported. If you look at the media, you find arguments on both sides of the issue. I'd like to know your thoughts on this matter...
Answer: Increased consumption of the beans, fish, legumes found to be more nutritious as they contains huge amount of fibre , calcium, protein as well as iron. Spinach is one of the good source of the iron.
The product such as butter, meat and coconut oil contains fewer calories as compared to the other fats. These have been found in recent research that they are not harmful for the heart if taken in an adequate amount. This also includes that these saturated fats still causes risk of developing obesity if taken in excess.
