(c) The molar mass of oxygen atoms is 16.0g mol-1. The oxygen molecule O2 can be considered as two massive points (representing the oxygen atoms) separated by a distance of 1.21 x 10-10 m. The origin of the Cartesian coordinate system is placed in the molccular centre of mass and the a-axis is aligned along the molecular axis of symmetr (i) Calculate the moment of incrtia of an oxygen molecule for rotation about either the y or z-axis. (ii) Calculate the r.m.s. angular velocity of rotation of an oxygen molecule about either the y or z-axis. (ii) Calculate the total rotational kinetic energy of the molecules in 1.00 mol of O2 gas at 300 K.
A3. (a) It is known that the temperature in the room is +20°C when the outdoor temperature is -20°C, and +10°C when the outdoor temperature is -40°C Determine the temperature T of the radiator heating the room.
