1.) a By comparing the shifts of acetylene group(2100-2200cm-1) and that of the nitrile group (2220-2260cm-1) given compounds can be differentiated.

b.) benzyl alcohol will give a broad characteristic peak of O-H stretch around 3200-3400cm-1 while acetophenone will give the carbonyl stretch around 1735-1750cm-1.

c.) Given compounds can be differentiated on the basis of N-H stretch. First compound give the broad N-H stretch around 3300-3500cm-1 while the second compound having tertiary amine do not have this peak.
