Answer)

An estimate is an approximating the business transaction amount for which there is no specific basis of measurement. We will estimate unsettled litigation and unasserted claims and of course others on the basis of the management judgement of probability of occurance of an event, past experiences and if management is no sure of probability it may use expert opinion also.

Cookie jar reserves is used by mostly managers of publicly held companies as by using it they create reserves that can be served as profits at the times when there is falling in profits for just to leave an impression in Analysts that the business is showing consistent results so that the investors show interest to purchase the stock which keeps the companies stock in high. However, in general business which are no held publicly will not have that temptation in it as they won't have high rotation of their shares.

During the mRNA processing our bodies will omit parts of the RNA depending on the environment around us. This means we may have the Gene for one type of phenotypic expression but not actual show it because the RNA was altered before the translation process.. If we are under a high stress environment then we will produce proteins that will alter our phenotype (this includes behavior). This editing can be cause by multiple factors like our food consumption, stress, resource...

Choice 1: Celebrating Life History In the book and lecture, we learned about how all people go through certain life stages and periods. The timing of these events is largely biological, but every culture celebrates when someone moves from one period to another. This is called a rite of passage. Some rites of passage occur when someone is born. Other notable transitions include when someone becomes an adolescent or when someone becomes an adult. While rites of passage often celebrate...

Point estimates often need to be nested in layers of analysis, and it is the Invariance Principle that provides a pathway for doing so. An example would be estimating Mu after having to estimate Alpha and Beta for some distributions. In simpler statistics class exercises (like those we've seen up until now), this is typically avoided by providing the lower level parameters within exercises or problems (eg, asking you for Mu by giving you the Alpha and Beta). The only...

Distinguishing Between Inferences and Assumptions To be skilled in critical thinking is to be able to take one’s thinking apart systematically, to analyze each part, assess it for quality and then improve it. The first step in this process is understanding the parts of thinking, or elements of reasoning. These elements are: purpose, question, information, inference, assumption, point of view, concepts, and implications. They are present in the mind whenever we reason. To take command of our thinking, we need...
