A 20 year old male, military recruit is half-way through boot camp. One day immediately following lunch, the medics performed a physical examination on the soldier. His urine results are listed below.

PH: 5.5                              UROBILINOGEN: normal

Microscopic:

Nothing remarkable seen.

What diagnosis do the patient’s history and laboratory results suggest? Explain.

As the patient's laboratory report shows that the patientsp urine sample is normal and only the pH value and clarity is abnormal which indicates that the person is having dehydration as the colour suggests many other possibilities such as urinary tract infections but the ansence of microorganism suggests otherwise. Also the patient has acidosis as his pH is towards the lower side indicating of him to have kidney stone.

As considering him being in army and that he has to be in the sun for a longer period of time and conses less water with these history we can make out that the patient might be suffering from kidney stone.
