Type 1 diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes or insulin - dependent diabetes, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin, which is a a hormone helps in sugar regulation in body

In order to diagnose type 1 diabetes many laboratory tests are there, it includes

  • Fasting blood glucose test ( it helps to know how the body manages blood sugar levels without the impact of food intake.
  • Oral glucose tolerance test ( this helps to identify how the body responds to carbohydrate intake
  • Random blood glucose test
  • Glycated hemoglobin test ( HbA1C) - this helps to know the average blood sugar level for the past two or three months
  • Honey moon phase which is asymptomatic
