Instructions:

Refer to the MANAGEMENT AT WORK case study in your book (pp.155-157) titled "The Creative Imprint of Bigfoot". Answer the questions following the case study.

Case Questions 1. In what ways is Bigfoot innovative? In what ways does it deal with big business? In what industries does it operate?

2. Which niches does Bigfoot serve in established markets? What new markets does it target?

Can you think of any other niches or new markets that it should consider in the future?

3. Does Bigfoot have any first-mover advantages? If so, what are these advantages, and how important do you think they are now and will be in the future?

   4. In what ways does Bigfoot rely on distinctive com- petencies? In what ways is experience in interna- tional management among these competencies? In what ways do you expect this particular compe- tency to become even more important in the future?

Students must post both the questions and answers of each case study. In addition, students will include at least one textbook citation from the chapter material that would be relevant to one of the questions and cite it using the proper in-text APA format, e.g. (Griffin, 2016, p. xx) and end of paper reference, e.g. Griffin, R. Answer #1

1. Bigfoots' innovative ways include its complex in the Philippines where it’s an all in one operation. Film makers can go there and live, film, edit, and produce their film. Bigfoot also founded the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT), which will not only staff Bigfoot Studios but will also to train the next generation of filmmakers. Bigfoot deals with big business by providing them a product. It operates in several industries to include acquisition, distribution, and sales(Griffin, 2016, p. 147).

2. Originally when purchased Bigfoot was an e-mail management firm. He then expanded it as an international entertainment company(Griffin, 2016, p. 142) . He also reached out in other areas which also connect to the entertainment industry he is building but is also separate. He created a Executive Hotel, an array of restaurants, boutiques, and sidewalk shops, and an 11-story office building. By doing so he reached different types of consumers on many different levels

3. A first mover advantage of Bigfoot is their ability to go straight to their own theater. This could be an important advantage but only if the movies are good, without advertising the movie must be good enough for word of mouth to travel.

4. Bigfoots ability to create a movie from start to finish within their own company is huge. The international experience is very valuable, when something doesn’t work in one country they can always move on to the next country. Certain things work better in different countries; the international experience will allow smooth transitions
