In titration, in general, we measure the concentration of the analyte with the help of another chemical substance of known concentration called titrant. We take the analyte in the conical flask and we take the titrant in burette.

To know whether the reaction of analyte and titrant is complete or not we take the help of an indicator. The indicator changes color at the point when the reaction is complete or in other words when the reaction reaches end point. Either it becomes colored from colorless or vice versa. Thus the purpose of the indicator is to determine when the end point has been reached.

Thus the above statement is true.
