Answer #1

1)

Balance reaction is:

2 H2O(l) -> 2 H2(g) + O2(g)

From reaction,

Mol of O2 produced = (1/2)*mol of H2O reacted

= (1/2)*4.12 mol

= 2.06 mol

Given:

P = 1.0 atm

n = 2.06 mol

T = 0.0 oC

= (0.0+273) K

= 273 K

use:

P * V = n*R*T

1 atm * V = 2.06 mol* 0.08206 atm.L/mol.K * 273 K

V = 46.1489 L

Answer: 46.1 L
