Type 1 diabetes- this condition accounts for approximately 5% of all diabetic cases, beta cells of the pancreas is damaged or destroyed, little or no insulin is released in the blood stream.
Type 2 diabetes- it is estimated that 80-90% of the people with this disease are overweight or obese, changes in the body develop progressively over a long period of time and results in this disease.
Prediabetes- cell begin to exhibit insulin insensitivity.
Normal function- glucose transporter efficiently prompt the uptake of of glucose into body cells, insulin produced by the pancreas efficiently stimulate glucose transporter within body cells.
