Anticoagulant are blood thinner these are chemical substances that prevent or reduce coagulation of blood , prolonging the clotting time , the drug card for Warfarin( coumadin ) theraupeutic use:it is used as an anticoagulant (blood thinner) Adverse effects: bleeding,warfarin necrosis, osteoporosis, purple toe syndrome,calcification. contraindications/precautions:heparin induced thrombocytopenia, protein c or protein s deficiency , thrombophilic conditions. interactions:NSAIDS(nonsteriodal antiinflammatory drugs ), antibiotics(metronidazole or the macrolides), broad spectrum antibiotics, hyperthyrodim and hypothyroidism, excessive use of alcohol, and with foods like ginger and garlic . education : oral and injection into veins.     .
