Answer #1

1. CaC2

Since Ca is a group II metal, it is always in +2 state. Let oxidation staet of C = x. Going by the neutrality of the compoumd:

+2 + 2 * x = 0

Solving, x = -1

AmI4

Since I is group 7, it always has -1 oxidation state. Let oxidation staet of Am = x Neutrality condition of compound:

x + 4 * -1 = 0

Solving, x = +4

Mn3P7

SInce Mn is in +7 state, assuming x oxidaion state of P:

3 * 7 + x * 7 = 0

Solving, x = -3

2. SnO, SnO2
