In Fig A.
The charge hasn't interacted with the conductor yet, so bothinside and outside = 0

Fig B.
All the protons are attracted to the charge at the center, soinside = +5
and outside the electrons are repelled, so outside = -5

Fig C.
The charge has been transferred to the conductor, so theinside is now = 0
and the outside is = to -5

Fig D.
Same as C.
