Limitations of the Logarithmic Mean Temperature difference(LMTD) method are:-

1. The fluids have constant Specific heat Capacity, so the rate of change of temperature is proportional to the temperature difference.

2. The overall Heat Transfer Coefficient (U) will be constant. so it will not be a function of temperature.

3. The LMTD method cannot be used in Transient situations.

4. The flow should be steady.

5. There should not be any phase change during heat Transfer.

6. The change in Kinetic energy and Potential Energy is neglected.
