Following carbohydrate, proteins, fats are recommended for type 1 diabetes

Brown rice, whole wheat, quinoa, steel cutoatmeal, vegetable, fruits, beans, lentils.

Meal timing is important for type 1 diabetes . Meal must watch insulin doses. Eating meals with low glycemic load (index) makes meal timing easier. Low glycemic load meals raise blood sugar slowly and leaving plenty of time for the body( or the injected insulin dose ) to respond. Skipping a meal or eating late puts a person at risk of low blood sugar ( hypoglycemia)

Foods to avoid for type 1 diabetes

Sodas ( both regular and diet) , simple carbcarbohydrates - processed / refined sugars ( white breads, pastries, chips, cookies , pastas), trans fats ( anything with the word hydrogenated on label ) and high fat animal products.
