Frank Pisano (Instructor) Apr 26, 2019 NOTE: Thread open to graded posts from June 2 to June 9. Opening Post Hi Folks The term "revolution" can open the door to a hotbed of debate Revolutionaries are sometimes viewed as heroes and saviors; however, just as often-and, perhaps, simultaneously-they are viewed by others of opposing political and philosophic persuasions as being treasonous and dangerous upstarts, individuals to be reviled and feared To begin grasping this dichotomy, consider America's own Revolution; consider its leaders, those individual credited with being Fathers to our country; consider the political and philosophic motivations that led these individuals to the path of revolt; and consider, finally, your personal attitude toward these individuals and events Now, cast yourself in the role of an 18th century Englishman or woman reading of the events taking place in the colonies. Consider how a revolution-like the American Revolution-might be viewed in vastly different lights when considered from disparate vantages Bear this dichotomy in mind as we explore the topic of revolt. What role do political and philosophic dispositions play in shaping the way in which one views revolution? Are there any contemporary examples that might illustrate this dichotomy? Brigham, M.
