Answer #1

Answer:

Average speed of gas molecule is vavg = [8kT/71M]1/2

From this, temperature T = v271M/8k = c Mv2, where c = 71/8k which is constant

That means T is directly proportional to Mv2.

Now we will calculate T value one by one.

Argon gas T = 40 (4m/s)2 c = 640c

Neon gas T = 20 (1 m/s)2 c = 20c

Helium gas T = 4 (8 m/s)2 c = 256c

Uranium gas T = 236 (0 m/s)2 c = 0

Hydrogen gas T = 2 (9 m/s)2 c = 192c

Ranking the gases from highest to lowest

Argon > Helium > Hydrogen > Neon > Uranium

Hence,

Argon - Highest temperature

Neon - 4th highest temperature

Helium -2nd highest temperature

Uranium - lowest temperature

Hydrogen - 3rd highest temperature.
