Answer #1

From balanced equation:

Mol of CO2 formed = (16/2)*mol of C8H18 reacted

= (16/2)*546 mol

= 4368 mol

Given:

P = 0.995 atm

n = 4368 mol

T = 12.0 oC

= (12.0+273) K

= 285 K

use:

P * V = n*R*T

0.995 atm * V = 4368 mol* 0.08206 atm.L/mol.K * 285 K

V = 1.03*10^5 L

Answer: 1.03*10^5 L
