Answer #1

An electromagnetic wave has a frequency and a wavelength which associated with it and travels at the speed of light.

The relationship among these wave characteristics which can be described by -

v = \lambda f

For all electromagnetic waves, greater the frequency, smaller the wavelength.

The electromagnetic spectrum which showing the major categories of electromagnetic waves.

The range of frequencies and wavelengths is remarkable.

We know that, high-frequency electromagnetic waves are more energetic and also more able to penetrate than low-frequency waves.

    The capacitor in the figure below is designed to filter low-frequency signals, impeding their transmission between circuits. Circuit Circuit Signal (a) What capacitance is needed to produce a 174 k12 reactance at a frequency of 191 Hz? nF (b) What would its reactance be at 1.00 MHz? (c) What are the implications of your answers to (a) and (b)? (Select all that apply.) High frequencies transmit better than low ones. Reactance is larger at high frequencies. Low frequencies transmit better...

    High-frequency sound waves exhibit less diffraction than low-frequency sound waves do. However, even high frequency sound waves exhibit much more diffraction under normal circumstances than do light waves that pass through the same opening. The highest frequency that a healthy ear can typically hear is 2.0 × 104 Hz. Assume that a sound wave with this frequency travels at 342 m/s and passes through a doorway that has a width of 1.2 m. (a) Determine the angle that locates the...

    Analytical Chemistry. Spectrochemical Concepts. Properties of Electromagnetic Radiation Part 1: Wave Model of EMR Although any given wave of EMR is made up of electric and magnetic fields that simultaneously oscillate in time and space, in this worksheet you will only focus on the electric field part of EMR. Although the wave oscillates in both space and time, imagine (for the purposes of the first diagram that you will draw to the right), that a "snapshot of the wave has...

    12. A longitudinal standing wave can be created in a long, thin aluminum rod by stroking the rod with very dry fingers. This is often done as a physics demonstration, creating a high-pitched, very annoying whine. From a wave perspective, the standing wave is equivalent to a sound standing wave in an open-open tube. In particular, both ends of the rod are anti-nodes. What is the fundamental frequency of a 2.50 m -long aluminum rod? The speed of sound in...

    Hi-fi audio amplifiers are usually built as discrete operational amplifiers with a relatively large gain (g ? 500) and with feedback that reduces the closed-loop gain to a smaller value k = 32. Since loudspeakers predominatly act like a resistor (nominal impedance: 8 ) with an inductor in series, the feedback network can be used to improve the frequency response in the audio range up to 20 kHz. We are primarily concerned with gain and frequency response of the amplifier....
