This standards explains about the specific patient safety concerns when they are admitted in the healthcare .It helps to identify the patient correctly,Improve the communication of the staff ,using medications safely, improving alarm safely ,identifying patient safety risks and to prevent mistakes in the surgery.Joint commission further explains the standards that it has to be maintained in all the health care areas especially in operation theatres.

Preventing medication errors is important in the filed of healthcare when it is concern with patient safety.The healthcare professionals should be trained in the administering the medications correctly through the proper routes and dosages .The nursing staff should take utmost care in preventing the medication errors .The medication error can happen to any patient who are admitted in the healthcare for treatment ,so as a healthcare professional it is the duty of them to prevent the occurrence of the medication error .This policy must be in place so that everybody who prepares to treat the patient will be taken extra care in treating the patients .

It is one of the important standard when it comes with the concern of patient safety .The credentials must be given to the person who is taking care of the patient .Proper credentialing  of the healthcare providers will ensure that patient safety.For example credentialing the nurses with the authority to administer the injections after the physicians order will ensure that the particular person will carry out the work safely to ensure patient safety.
