​SUPERVISOR

A supervisor is a person who is in charge of, and coordinates all the activities of a group of employees working for an organisation. He act as a supervisor in front of the employees who is responsible to carry out the plans and policies set by the management.

Role of a Supervisor:-

• Role prescription   ​​​​:- This role specifies that a supervisor should follow the instruction laid by the management. He is responsible to make sure the work provided to his subordinates is completed as per schedule.
• Role Conflict    :- A supervisor ensures that the work assigned by the management is properly assigned and also he conveys the suggestion made by the workers to the managements. As a link between them, he can avoid conflicts and misunderstandings between management and employees.
• Role Ambiguity :- This states that the supervisor should make his employees clear about the work they need to complete. The employees should not have ambiguity in their works. He should make sure that there are no confusions or more than one interpretations for each job done.
• Role Sanctions :- This states that the supervisor should act as a strict instructor, where if an employee disobeys or creates conflicts he should take an action against the employee. Only with sanctions the employees will work loyally and take their responsibilities  seriously. The supervisor can punish if found guilty.
• Other roles :-   

a) Productivity :- A supervisor should focus in increasing the productivity of the business . He should provide instructions and lay plans in such a way that more production can be done. Also he should ensure optimum utilisation of resources and no duplication made.

b) Quality :- It also his responsibility to make sure the work is done properly and will achieve the beat outcome. He should ensure best quality service in order to receive best quality results.

  c) Customer :- Every business focuses on creating a wide range of customers. As in the supervisor should be able keep a healthy relation between his employees and customers. Without a proper CRM the business will fall. Hence the supervisor should ensure customer satisfaction. He need to focus on creating goods and services that will satisfy the customers or attract more customers.

   d) Diversity and Culture :- Each and every person has different nature and culture. The supervisor should plan according to which culture suits the present market. He should ensure that this business will be able to stand in this diversified market. If the business only cope with the culture , there takes place a long run. Otherwise business will not be able to compete in the market. He should ne able to manage diversities.
