ans 1.a. initial velocity u = 12 m/s

height h = 110 m

gravitational acceleration g = 9.8 m/s2

relevant equation is h = u*t+1/2*g*t2

110 = 12*t+4.9 *t2

4.9*t2 +12*t -110 = 0

solving this we get t= 3.67 second

b. relevant equation is v = u+g*t

v = 12+ 9.8*3.67 = 47.97 m/s
