Answer #1

Oxygen is a vital element for all the living things to survive in the world. Oxygen is represented with a symbol O2 oxygen element with two molecules. Oxygen available in atmospheric pressure Fio2 is 21%. Trees during respiration they produce more oxygen by utilizing carbon dioxide for the respiration process. In humans respiration is a process in which oxygen is breath in and carbon dioxide is released out. Any respiratory disorders leads to oxygen insufficiency.

The partial pressure of oxygen level in high altitudes is lower as there is a marked decrease in atmospheric pressure. It results in decreased driving force and inability of the lungs to push oxygebln into the vital circulation.

The other options of

Oxygen makes up a smaller percentage of the air.

Oxygen makes up a larger percentage of the air.

Is incorrect as oxygen availability in the atmospheric air 21% irrespective of the altitude.

The partial pressure of oxygen in the lung alveoli is a bit lower than in ambient air, being about 100 mm of mercury, or 0.13 Atm (it is lower than the partial pressure in air mainly because oxygen is continually taken up by the alveolar capillaries and carbon dioxide is continually released into the alveoli). In cell-free blood plasma (or a saline solution formulated to match key characteristics of blood plasma), which lacks red blood cells and therefore lacks hemoglobin,...

Question 6 (1 point) Which of the following statements are accurate? Oxygen is not the most abundant gas in the atmosphere. Diffusion of gases is 'better' across single cells that are thin than layers of thin cells. Gas exchange in humans occurs in the lungs at the structures called alveoli. Diffusion of gas occurs from areas with a higher partial pressure to an area of lower partial pressure. Organisms with gills may use a countercurrent exchange mechanisms to extract more...

Define partial pressure. What is the partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) in the outside air, in the alveoli, in the pulmonary vein, and after the tissue (i.e. muscle)? What is the cause of the drop on PO2 at each of these places? What is the partial pressure of CO2 (PCO2) in the arterial blood after an exhalation and then after the muscles? What causes the PCO2 to go up from the lungs to after the muscles?
