Answer #1

7)6 second strips in EKG is used to calculate heart rate which are evrn irregular .Here 30 large squares is equal to 6 second. The number if R waves can be counted in a 6 second strip and multiplied by 10 to get the heart rate.

  • Atrial rate is calculated with p wave (identify the first p wave and start counting for 30 large squares ,the number of p waves between 30 large squares should be multiplied with 10 to get the heart rate
  • Ventricular rate is calculated using R wave (identify the first R wave count for 30 large boxes, the number of R waves between 30 large squares should be multiplied with 10 to get the heart rate.

8)The EKG is a graphical record of the heart rate. The physiological effect on EKG is due to the atrial repolarisatikn and ventricular depolarisation.Generation of heart beats from the SA node. When the physiology of the heart is disturbed will lead to changes in EKG .The medicines taken for cardiac diseases and other medicines changes the rhythm on the EKG
