1) Communicable diseases are infectious disease that is caused by microorganisms like bacteria, virus which can spread from one person to another through physical contact, breathing in virus containing air or bite from insects, contaminated food or water. It will take 7 to 15 days for these diseases to manifest in body and show symptoms.

eg : Ebola, Flu Measles, Zika virus West Nile Virus

Acute illness is a disease with abrupt onset ,lasts a short time. It is caused by a virus or an infection, or injury or drug misuse.It is concerned with physiological impairment in body.

eg : Pneumonia, Upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, sinusitis

2) Breast feeding

  • best choice for baby
  • feeding baby with mothers milk
  • fights infection, prevent allergies, protect body, increase immunity.
  • good nutrition and easy to digest
  • no cost, easily available, convenient, skin to skin contact increase mother baby bond
  • beneficial for mother also

Formula feeding

  • commercially prepared infant formula
  • alternative to breast milk
  • useful for women who cannot breast feed
  • either parent can feed baby
  • contain commercially prepared vitamin and nutrient and less digestive
  • expensive,
  • causes gas and constipation in babies

3) Health status vs ability to learn

Children's health or nutrition status affects learning ability. Children who are healthy and not affected by recurrent diseases will be able to concentrate and learn better.Also diet and nutrition play important role in learning. Getting better nutrition means their capacity to learn will be better with better memory and cognition and thinking skills.Mental health also contributes to learning.Child having sound health, good family atmosphere, peaceful and happy mind will learn better than others who dont.Diseases affects their memory and skills .

4) Cold vs allergy

  • Cold is an infection caused by virus while allergies are reaction of immune system to substances like dust, pollen, etc.
  • In cold , there will be cough ,low grade fever ,headache, stuffed nose or runny nose, sore throat, etc, and mucus will be thick, yellow or green.In allergy , there will be runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, mucus clear and watery
  • Cold resolves in a week, but allergy can lasts longer and exaggerate on exposure to allergens.
  • Cold is contagious while allergy is not.
  • Cold symptoms take few days to appear after infection with virus, while allergy symptoms begin immediately after contact with allergens.
