1. Hyperactive bowel tones are reduced bowel sounds and activity seen in some diseased conditions. Examples of hyperactive bowel are :

- diarrhea

- GI bleeding

2. Hypoactive bowel tones are increased bowel sounds. Examples of hypoactive bowel tone are :

- abdominal surgeries

- constipation

3. To instruct the patient on self assessment of breast ask the patient to put her arm on the head and using pads of finger gently move hand over breast in stripped pattern and feel for any lump or pain. Repeat for another breast.

4. To instruct the patient on self assessment of testicles ask the patient to place his leg on a raised surface and feel the scrotum. Ask the patient to find the testicle and roll it between his thumb and fingers of both hands for any changes or lump or pain.
