Describe the problem of reverse causality in the context of the relationship between income and health.
In statistical terms, We usually study how Y is affected by X. Reverse causality explains how Y affects X and not the other way around. In simple terms, Y is causing X to change.
In our example, We consider Health to be our Y variable and Income to be our X variable. Causality will show how income affects health, but reverse causality implies how income is being affected by health.
This relationship is quite intutive. Keeping everything else constant,If a person is not healthy, then he is less productive and thus his income is affected.i.e bad health implies lesser income. In a similar manner, a healthy person is more productive and thus can earn high income. Therefore there is a direct relationship between health and income, where health directly affects income.

Causality between two variables: Describe how we test for causality and why this might be important in conducting empirical analysis.

Describe in detail the relationship between health policy and legislation
3. Causality Define the following terms: Reverse Causality, Omitted Variable Bias, Measurement Error (Note: Give a general definition, not slides'example) Why are these things an issue when we want to make statements like "X causes Y" Two ways in which we try to overcome these issues is using Instrumental Variables and Regressions Discontinuity. Describe these and give an example of it from the lecture. a. b. c.
16. Which of the following is not a necessary step in resolving the causality problem between and independent and dependent variable? à. elimination of all sources of measurement error b. establish that a relationship exists c. exclude rival causal factors d.specification of the time order of relationship
