There are four measures of central tendency that we will study
this week. They may yield different results for the same set of
data. They each really serve the same purpose in different ways.
Please share your idea of when one may hope to have a higher
measure of center and in which situation one may hope to have a
lower measure of center for a set of data.
For example, if I am a business owner, then I may look at my
profits each month as a set of data. I would want my profits to
have a higher central measure if I was listing my business for
sale. I would hope that my business would look really profitable
and therefore a potential buyer would want to pay a high price to
purchase my business. On the other hand, when I go to file my
taxes, I would like my profits to have a lower measure of center. I
would want the government to tax me on this lower central measure
of my profits.
Measure of central tendency means the variable which are representative of the entire population or data.
basically there are five measure of central tendency .1) Arithmatic Mean 2) Median 3)Mode 4) Geometric Mean
5) Harmonic Mean .
Let us discuss a one example . Suppose I am a Farmer , Then I am looking for maximum production from the firm and get more money or profit as possible for every season . I would want my production of yield of crop is higher central measure ,if I listing to my profit of yield of a crop and in market my yield of production may purchase on high price .
On other hand When I looking for my expenditure for production of yield is as low as possible that it have a lower measure of center I would want the transport expenditure, labour expenditure, fertilizer expenditure ,all type of expenditure are lower central measure for my production of yield of a crop .

I really need help answering these questions! Please help Graph the frequency distribution as a histogram graph. Use StatDisk to draw the graph. Describe the histogram and choose one of the measures of central tendency to interpret this data set. Carry all calculations and the answer to 4 decimal places unless otherwise noted. For example, the number "123.0000" has been carried and reported to 4 decimal places. (Yes, trailing zeros count.) The county library staff has recorded the number of...
The amount of money (in $) spent on social events during a given week is given below for a sample of 10 college students. 45 49 50 50 68 70 71 72 300 500 Which measure of central tendency, mean or median, provides a more appropriate measure of center? Answer 10 Points I Tables Keypad Mean. The values are all basically similar to one another. Median. The values are all basically similar to one another. Mean. It is the primary...
52.1 Three primary statistics are used to describe a variable's central tendency, defined as the average behavior of the variable. You can use these statistics, known as the mean, the median, and the mode, to draw meaningful conclusions about a variable's past behavior and to predict its future behaviar An investor is considering a stock with the following returns over the past 12 years: Year Annual Return Year Annual Return 12 10 12 The mean, also known as the arithmetic...
Question 3: Creating, modifying, and evaluating a variable Also, who are we kidding: while these are conceptual questions, they, too, are also coding questions! (a) You are studying the ages of students when they enroll at NYU (sorry to our non-NYU students for our NYU-centric-ness). You have a sample of five students. Three are 18, one is 17, and one is 19. Create a variable named ages that holds these values in a Numpy array in the order listed here....
I need help answering the questions below. Please help :) Graph the frequency distribution as a histogram graph. Carry all calculations and the answer to 4 decimal places unless otherwise noted. For example, the number "123.0000" has been carried and reported to 4 decimal places. (Yes, trailing zeros count.) The Countrytown School District has recorded the number of absences in a school year for a random sample of 24 students. The school board is concerned that half of their students...
Read and conduct a critical analysis of postings. analysis of the posting should be written to include the following topics: Identify important information (facts, experiences, data, and so on). Identify the main conclusions drawn. Analyze the key concepts to understand the post line of reasoning. Identify the underlying main assumption(s) of the post. ** American Senior Communities: To compassionately serve each customer with quality care and excellence. Harvest Land Co-Op: To be a leading farmer owned company that values its...
In order to measure the rate of this reaction, we utilized the fact that starch - in the presence of iodine has a distinct dark blue color while the conversion of starch to its monomer leads to a more transparent/amber colored solution. While you used a simple visual analysis to verify the conversion, it is also possible to quantify the change in (starch) using a spectrophotometer. 1. Why/how was a spectrophotometer used for this purpose? EXPLAIN what this machine does...
A nationwide, standardized test taken by high-school juniors and seniors may or may not measure academic potential, but we can nonetheless attempt to predict academic performance in college from scores on this test. We have chosen a random sample of 47 students just finishing their first year of college, and for each student we've recorded her score on this standardized test (from 400 to 1600) and her grade point average (on a four point scale) for her first year in...
Required information Chapter 17 Case: Reducing Ambiguity in Business Requirements The number one reason projects fail is bad business requirements. Business requirements are considered “bad” because of ambiguity or insufficient involvement of end users during analysis and design. A requirement is unambiguous if it has the same interpretation for all parties. Different interpretations by different participants will usually result in unmet expectations. Here is an example of an ambiguous requirement and an example of an unambiguous requirement: • Ambiguous requirement:...
