If we plot a graph between pressure and volume adsorbed, the graph agrees with the langmuir adsorption isotherm.

S= Vmono mono

Where S is the surface area of the adsorbent.

Vmono is the amount of adsorbate covering the surface area of the adsorbent in a monomolecular coverage,

Wmono is the surface occupied by a molecule and N is the avagadro's number.

S is the surface area of the adsorbent.

If we plat a graph between P/V vs P then the slope of the graph will give us the value of  V mono. We can use this value to calculate the surface area of the adsorbent.
