I can recall one specific time applying for a management job, and getting the interview. I could tell that when I arrived all were shocked that I was African American. Because I did not sound like what they thought an African American sounds like over the phone and my resume didn't necessarily reflect that.

Why do you think some employers stereotype applicants based on race prior to meeting them?

Answer: Due to multiple culture and diversity in the population there are various kind of people we meet and many of them work in the organisations. Being in the diverse population we need to understand the need of the era and should always co-operate with it.

Sometimes some of the employers stereotype applicants based on race prior to meeting them because they are somewhat unable to adjust themselves with the diversity. For any of the employers who is sensible will always look for the talent and the calibre in the employee. Race, gender etc does not matter to these people. But some of the people still look for these things which are not at all important while working.
