When all you believe is people behind you until they turn their back on you.

Times are hard when you are not to be worried about anything in life. I had a great job with a very working paid. Things were going smoothly until one day I had a call to my manager’s office saying he will like to talk to me. At first, I was so happy thinking this was a promotion or job salary increase until I saw his face that he wasn’t smiling anymore. For a minute it felt that they were no one in the room till I heard a voice telling me that do you have any question for me. That was when I had a flashback of what he was telling me that my job and the position I have for Bank of American is no more needed as of October of 2015. I told my manager how disappointed I was since I was the hardest working person that he had and he would have work thing out on my behalf to save my job. All I can think of that moment was when he told me that sweetheart I am very sorry but this is not coming from me but from a higher end. My heart trouble! Can somebody hear him, He called me a sweetheart but you cannot help me! That’s those words going to buy milk to fill my babies’ bottles. After talking to him for a couple of hours I found myself in the same position that they were nothing he can do for me to save my Job. I left his office to go to my desk pretending that everything was okay and things will work out fine for me. I run to my office as a strong woman and when I saw nobody was watching me I broke down in tears. My desk was full of water pod which was dripping from my face. All I can think of at that moment was using document of the half-day work I have done to clean up my desk. Thinking of what can I do and where is the paycheck come from to get food on the table for my family. Going home I forget even the direction to the house that I have left more than 12 years. Here I was in the middle of nowhere until a phone called came from my daughter saying mommy where are you why are you not in the house yet is 6:30 in the evening and normally I get home around 5:45. I manage to find my way home and now its time for me to tell the family about my day for work on the dinner table. My husband took it lightly of Couse he was not the hard-working one or the devoted one because I was the one doing all the hard work and the one getting punished. It took me a long time getting myself together! All along I was beating myself done, telling myself I will never trust or put my heart in helping anyone or devoting myself to anybody in any organization because when its time for you to go they won’t care for your loyalty or how hard you work. For a couple at least a couple of month, I put myself together and it was time for me to look for a job again. In my head and the confidence that I have, I had this attitude that with my manager experience any company that will see my resume will give me a job in a heartbeat. I was very wrong with that concept.

It took weeks and it turns to be months going through interviews and all they will do is to smile on your face that everything is great not only you come back home and they don’t have the guilt to tell you on your face but to let you know through email that you did not get the job. How fun will it be if all that they tell you on a feedback is I overqualified for the job? OVER QUALIFY? When I ask to be more specifics and there is no other reason to what I want to know but someone telling me that I over qualify.

Is hard when people around you always say things that they know or believe but purse you to believe what they say around you. I believe what they tell me about having twins are the most awesome babies to have because they bring you a lot of luck and there I was four months after my twins born and I got lay off from my job. Tell me the luck that brought me into this.

It was very hard with me, a lot of depression going to interview after interviews and getting denies like I have no qualifications. At a moment I felt that I have to change the table around because the situation made me feel that maybe is the way I look or because of the way I sound that is why I wasn’t getting any luck with my job hunt. I sat and think for a minute and decide to sept down from the position that I used to be as assistant manager to look for just a letter position to see if the companies will look at me differently and offer me a job. Funny enough I was still not getting any luck even though I drop down to just being a teller. All I can still hear as I was overqualified. Till when I was given up and not looking for any job or going to an interview, one cold morning whiles I was enjoying my family with my Dad who was visiting from England and I heard a phone call at first I didn’t pick up because I was telling myself that who could it be calling me early in the morning whiles I’m enjoying my morning. The phone call came through again and this time with a smile on my face from what my Dad said I respond hello with a big smile and couldn’t even understand what the person said to me because I wasn’t paying attention. I ended the call and little I know when the place was quit I went through my phone and found out that I have ended an important call it would be a call that will change things around for me. I called the number back and of the cause, no one pick’s up and there was no voice answer for me to figure out who had called me and the reason for their call. All of a seeding all I can think of is what have I done’ biting my fingernails and not talking or answering anybody’s question in the house. I was sweating in a cold winter day because all I can think of is made be it was one of the jobs I apply and someone is trying to returning my call to give me a job. Days go by and as I forgot all about it got a call again from the same number. This time I run to my room locking the door to avoid all the noise in my house. I person on the phone said and I “quote” this is James King from wells Fargo can I speak to Francesca Jersey in my head I said to myself that you call my phone now you asking if you can talk to the owner of the phone, what do you think were you trying to call burger king or something. But I have to keep my cool and answer polity I yes this is she and who do I have the pleasure of talking to. He then told me he was calling to offer me a job because one of the managers is very interested to work with me because she said I was the right fit to help her with her trouble bank. Even though I needed the job so bad I gather courage and ask so how much he was going to pay me, when he to me the amount the place was silent for a minute till I heard him saying are you there. I said to him was are you kidding me “11.00” this is what I was getting paid 10 years ago when I started at Bank of America and you guys are starting with 11.00 at this time, I plead with him to give me more money and at a point all the sound is like you take it or leave it. I had no choice but to accept the offer because I did not know when another call will come for an opportunity like this. I started the job work very hard and within the 8th month, I was promoted to be a lead teller with a laoudz pay. As time goes on which the lead teller wasn't what I wanted to do, I had my eyes on the big prize to be an assistant branch manager.

All along I was working very had to achieve my goal by been the number one top seller of account in my store and one of the best seller in the religion. I was always getting prizes for gold and getting all certificate from the upper end encouraging me and recognize me for all my hard work. Within a year of my service, an opportunity came for assent manager at the same store that I work in. I want ahead and bid for the job because i had it in my resume that I qualify for the job because I used to do the same position at my old job which was Bank of America and also for my dedication, loyalty and the hard work I have put in within a year there was no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't get the job. I pass all the background screening and it was time for an interview to my surprise the regional manager that came to interview me didn't have any interest with me and didn't care to ask me any questions. I later found out that she wanted her friend to get the job but not me. The whole thing for who to get the promotion was delayed because there was a fright with my manager who has seen the good in me and how hard I work so she wanted me to have the job and there was the regional manager who she is the big shark the main manger above all of us who wanted her friend to have the proposition. I was called for a second time to have another interview’ this time a penal interview between myself the regional managers boss, the regional manager herself and two other managers from different branches.After all the interview all there were still telling me was they prefer the other candidate to have the position because she has the experience and she has been with the company longer than I have. I took it personal because hello is are they listen to themselves because I had the expresses from bank of America and ever since I came to wells Fargo I have been nothing but loyally I never call off from work even if am sick never been late to work, I am the number salesperson and yet you tell me I don't qualify which the manager I work under thinks I am the right fit. I wanted to take the matter to the human resource department because I said to myself is this is discretion because of my color and they are not being far because someone wants the friend to have the job. All there can tell me was there need someone who is strong for the store because it was a very difficult store because the store is been failing the yearly audit, all customer expires, Sales, and employee turnovers are red in all report. I was still waiting for them too announced that who had got the job and I didn't take anything likely but to work very hard for my way out. I did a lot of cleaning by getting the branch and the employees ready for our audit and within a short time we had the audit and we source very hight on the audit.For my credit, I was thinking because the team and I did good with the audit and show green at this time is a plus for me to get the proposition. Its wasn't in enough for the big sharks still debating of given the position to who they had in mind. All I can do is light up my candles and pray to God to give me his mercy and all that I can say to myself was what God has in place for me no one can take from me and try to be positive with everything. One day I was at work my manager called me to her office and turn her computer around towards me and said to me read this, my heart started beating all i can think of is I didn't get the job. But the email read’ you can go hard and give Francesca Jersey the promotion and i couldn't do anything but to scream on top of my lung and I told myself that this is the reality. I got my hands dirty to make sure I was working very hard for my self the team because there was a lot of work needed to be done and the regional manager is looking at me to fail. Because she made a statement to my manager that we will see if Francesca can do the job and if things get worst in the store it will back fire on my manager. For me living on that statement she told my manager I saw always living on a fear to work my headers and prove everybody wrong.I can recall an incident where our team faced a creative roadblock and then I was able to transfer attitude and behavior to my project mates. It was during my final year audit, Sales and customer service experience, my team was lagging behind, quite severely in the execution and final documentation of our project due to certain deviations like i don't care this is not my problem I am not the manager. Just a week before the final audit project, we were still struggling with the project. Most of my group mates had given up and had the belief that we won’t be able to submit our project for review. It was a panic situation for everyone and everyone were turning blank about what should be done to control this situation. When everyone had started giving hope, I believed it was time that I stirred some life into the group and make them aligned with the project. I quoted to them an ideology which I follow in my life. It is a quote from one of my most favorite novel “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” - “Remember that hope is a good thing green, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” The moment I shared this quote with my group, a smile swept across every face in our group.There was renewed hope, energy and determination in our group. We channelized our energy in the right direction and revamped our project, pepper work and all our procedure and put our plan in place. We conducted a root cause analysis to identify the factors which were acting as roadblocks in the audit completion. The primary root causes identified were that we were working in an unorganized manner, also we had not distributed the proper roles and responsibilities to everyone in the group. I took the role of a leader, directed my team mates and distributed the roles keeping in mind everyone’s strengths and group synergy. Everyone started to work with renewed energy and everything started falling into place. With the renewed energy and focus, we were able to complete the audit and was the number in the reign. Though there are various theories of leadership, I really admire the Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership theory and find it to be effective in any kind of business setting. This leadership model can be the best theoretical model, which can explain the traits and capacities of effective leadership. This model suggests that there is no specific style followed by a leader of an organization. The leader needs to mold his leadership style as the gravity of the situation, faced by the organization, demands. The characteristics of leadership style may also depend on the maturity of the followers. Such a leader, who is able to analyze and handle any kind of situation is called an effective leader. I was an effective leader because i did not listen to anything anybody was saying around me but focus and believe myself what i can do. A effective leader anticipates a situation, analyzes it and then develops his leadership style accordingly. Even though we pass our audit there was still a lot of work for me to be done which was the customer experience and the employee turnover I needed to bring in. I had to be skillful because that is what and effective leader should be. An effective leader must have the following skills:

Negotiation Skills: An effective leader must have the negotiation ability

◦ Example: A leader will need negotiation skills to reach a mutual consensus during the collective bargaining process.

Leadership Skills: I must have the leadership skills so as to guide and lead the employees under me.

◦ Example: The leader will require leadership skills to make the employees believe in my vision and also known what needed to be done and ready to answer every question when it arise.

Communication Skills: I have to have a great communicator skill.

◦ Example: I need effective communication skills to make the employees understand my perspective and overall strategy for enhancing the company’s performance.

Peoples Manager: As a leader I must have the image of being paternalistic and to take care of my employees.

◦ Example: As a leader I have to portray my people skills so that the employees understand that I will take care of their needs and overall welfare.

Problem Solver: As a leader I must be able to solve any problem at hand.

◦ Example: l must be able to identify the root cause of any problem at the company, using my problem solving skills, so that I can solve them completely.

I was a very effective leader because all that was showing Red on peper work turn to be green my employee turn over change because all my employees love working for because I always recognize their hard work and they are always happy to do anything for me because they know I will also do my best to help them.We were number branch for customer experience, I was able to build up and team and promote those who work harder.

Now that my hard work is show on black and white and the green light is on the bad store that they never get any good from it now everybody wanted to come work with me.

One day the regional manager came over call me in the office and said to me that she sees it but I have proved her wrong and I have opened her eyes not to judge people the way they look or sound but to give everybody is a chance in the work. To my conclusion, I told her I was happy I was able to turn things around and we shouldn't huge a boob by its cover.

Ans- It is a story of a Women whose name is Francesca Jersey. She has twin kids. She was working as an Assistant Manager in Bank of America. This was the time when she don't have to worry about anything because of its high paying job. One Day she get a call from the Office Manager that He wants to talk to her in his office. At that moment, she was thinking it will probably be a call for Promotion, Raise in the Salary. But what happened was not expected, he has told that Do you have any questions for me which give her a flashback that her Job and Position is not required for Company now and this was the very disappointment moment for her. This was the day when she was very upset and also crying. She although forget her home's address and went some other way because of the Stress of the Job.

She knew about going on the wrong way when she receive a call of her daughter Usually she reaches her home at 5:45pm. But that It was 6:30pm and she is still finding way to reach her home. She was so much worried about hee family because she has not the job now. Her Husband was not the Hard worker in her home. She is the only one who was giving the Best to feed her home and also getting the punishments.

Working as an Associate Manager in Bank of America gives her a feel that She will get the another job very easily. But things weren't work as expected. Days and Weeks gone of giving the Interviews but she is not getting the Jobs. All she is getting the response email from the Company that they can't hire for this job. Companies started giving the reasons to her that She is overqualified for this job according to her experience. But it was not that good. As she has the twin daughters. People belive that those who born Twin Babies has very good luck. But what was about lucky she has been fired from the job after that 4 months of her daughter came.

She was trying was so much for the job but she was listing the same word "Over Qualified". She was not able to get the job of a Teller. Times gone, one Day she was enjoying with my Family and Dad in England. At that time, She receives a Call in the morning she firstly think who is calling her in this early morning. When she pick up the phone, she is not able to understand the seriousness of caller and she cuts the call and thinks of calling the same no. When she wi be frew. After this, she was thinking whether it is a call for a job. She was bitting her nails cursing herself for cutting that call. She again calls at that phone number, but no one picks up her call. She was thinking that there will be again call from their side. But she didn't get and also she forget about it. After some days, she received a call from same number. Time time she went to a silent room and there was James King from wells Fargo who told her that they were really impresaed of their work experience and Company wants to hire her but they are paying just "11.00" which she was receiving from a quite period of time  

But she accepts this offer by seeing the condition and start working for the job. She has given their best contribution to the job and she also promoted for the Lead Tellet. Along with this, she has also got the other Gold Prizes and now she wants to become an Associate Manager and the Top Seller. After some time, she get the opportunity to work again in Bank of America, she go for the Interview process to be hired. In the Firsy Background Screening Round, even though of her great performance , she didn't give her job and decide to give job to other candidate who has not the experience. But the next Round was left of Panel Interview. In this round, the other Interviewers was also thinking why company is hiring an unexperienced person instead of her. The reason was they wants to hire one of their referalls.

She was very disappointed and she became disloyal herself in her mind because of coming to the Same Company again when doing job somewhere else. Even though, she had complained to the Human Resource Department according to her color etc. But it was not yet announced that she didn't get the job because they have so much need of that Cost Audit. She was praying to get everything right. She get a call from the Manager and she show the mail that she has got the job promotion. She was out of her comfortzone now. She has got the success of her hard work.

There was a statement in the Mail that if Francesca is not able to handle the work, she will be fired back to same position. Now she has to lead the team and complete the project. Everyone was scared that they will not be able to complete their project on time. But she has the hope saying about the Novel "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” that a Good Hope can success in this project without any problems. When she said this quote, all of her team member got charged up and started working seamlessly and firstly their team found they were working in an unorganized manner.

She has also used Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership Thoeory Model which states the Traits of a good leader that was there is not any specific style of good leader. The Effective leader is one who is able to work in any of the conditions and analyze the work. She did the same and analyze the work to know where they were wrong. They have passed the order but there was still to be done from our side according to Customer reviews. There are so many skills to develop for her yet to be a effective leader-

Good Communication Skills, Leadership Skills, Negotiation Skills, Problem Solving etc. After this, she has become the effective leader and turn out green of the Employee Turnover. Again Regional manager calls her to office and told her that you have proved me wrong and said she had learned me to not judge the people how they look.

Thesis- There can be a situation when you will get the rejection at your Hardworking efforts, If you stop your efforts at that time and curses your Destiny, you can never get out of it. What you have to do is to come back and prove everyone wrong which Francesca Jersey did.
