Answer #1

1). Advantages

  • The main advantage of creating fillet using 3D environment is that it is parametric (the geometric dimensions of the model can be varied at any time in the design process).
  • Using fillet in 3D environment makes the model realistic and easy for manufacturing.

Disadvantages:

  • Creating fillet in 2D environment makes it unparametric (i.e the geometric dimensions cannot be changes as the design changes).
  • Using fillet in 2D environment is time consuming process

2). Cut with pattern and cut each one individually

  • Cut with pattern where we select the feature and pattern (Linear and circular). The main advantage of using pattern is that it reduces rework i.e creating parts again and again.
  • Pattern reduces the tree structure making the component simple as possible and reduce the component file size.
  • Cut the part individually is a time consuming process and increases the tree structure. Thus increasing the component file size.
  • Cut the part individually increases rework.
