between oocyte and the follicular cells.
- Sperm binds to zona pellucida in acrosome reaction during
fertilization.
- Zona pellucida plays a vital role in oocyte growth and
fertilization.
- Cumulus oophorus functions for oocyte
maturation and provide vital proteins to nourish the oocyte.
- It also provide energy substrate for meiosis and
glycolysis.
