Father has the defective x chromosome. So he can have below chromosomes:

xY or Yx

Mother has good chromosomes, XX

Since each parent contributes one of the chromosomes to the child, in the given scenario son will have below possible chromosomes:

YX, XY

So total outcomes = 2

Now, to son to inherit disease, there is no favorible outcome out of two because x chromosome is not a lowercase.

So, favorible outcomes = 0

Hence, the probability that son will inherit the disease is 0/2 = 0.
