Answer #1
  1. It can't be autosomal dominant because if it was, it would surely be shown by the progeny, as the progeny can get it from both mother and father.  That is ,here both mother and father are affected so there is a greater chance for the progenies also to be affected , as they remain unaffected it surely mmeans the trait that caused the disease is autosomal but not dominant.
  2. It can't be Y linked because, if it was the male progeny will surely get affected as they contain Y chromosome for sure and they inherit it from their father only.
  3. It can't be X linked dominant condition because if it was then both male and female progenies must show the disease. Let XA be trait then father - XAY and mother - XAX then the progenies will be
    XA Y
XA XAXA- affected XAY - affected
    X XAX - affected XY - unaffected
Clearly shown it can't be X linked dominant.
  4. It can't be X linked recessive condition because if it was ( in here father and mother are affected- mother wont act as carrier rather affected)
    XC Y
XC XCXC - affected XCY- carieer
XC XCXC - affected XCY - affected
Hence clearly shown it cant be X linked recessive as all male and one female of the progenie is affected.

( As you haven't mentioned the question for which you need help, i will give answer to the first 4 questions)

a.) Before individual II-2 had an affected son, this family believed the condition followed a dominant mode of inheritance.  Why does the phenotype of III-1 support a recessive rather than a dominant mode of inheritance? b.) Could the mode of inheritance actually be dominant? Explain using appropriate genetic terms. c.) In order to better understand the risk of passing this condition on to additional offspring, individual II-2 sought genetic counseling which resulted in the drawing of this pedigree. This action makes...

    2. Analysis of a breeding history in pureb eding history in purebred dogs revealed a familial disease impacting some animals. Pedigree below shows the inheritance pattern in the breeding population. a) For each mode of inheritance listed below, indicate whether it is: 1: likely, 2: possible, or 3: impossible. You may make the following simplifying assumptions: 1) disease alleles are rare among animals in the general population; 2) only mothers contribute mitochondria; 1) Autosomal, sex influenced, dominant in males/recessive in...
