How can we find profitability if we have gross margin percent and gross margin total in dollars. We have volume of total units and the price of each unit and the margin is also given.

Solution:

Total Revenue = Total units x Price of each unit

When we are given volume of total units and the price of each unit compute total Revenue (i.e. Total units x Price of each unit)

As we are also given gross margin total in dollars, and total revenue we have already compted thus put the value in the formula: Gross Margin in dollars = Revenue – Cost of Goods Sold to compute the COGS. Further

Gross Profit Margin percentage = (Total Revenue – Cost of Goods Sold)/Total Revenue x 100
