Answer #1

FIXED ASSETS TURNOVER RATIO = SALES / AVERAGE NET FIXED ASSETS

AVERAGE NET FIXED ASSETS = (VALUE AT BEGINNING + VALUE AT END ) / 2

PREVIOUS YEAR AVERAGE NET FIXED ASSETS = (113000 + 108000) /2 = $ 110500

CURRENT YEAR AVERAGE NET FIXED ASSETS = ( 108000 + 98000 ) /2 = $ 103000

5-A. THEREFORE

CURRENT YEAR FIXED ASSETS TURNOVER RATIO = 125000 / 103000 = 1.2135

PREVIOUS YEAR FIXED ASSETS TURNOVER RATIO = 111000 / 110500 = 1.0045

5-B. CURRENT YEAR FIXED ASSET TURNOVER RATIO HAS BEEN INCREASED WHICH INDICATES EFFICIENT UTILISATION OF ASSETS .THEREFORE IT IS BETTER .
