In summary nurses are subject to expose to environmental hazards through their direct contact with patients, physical and psychological job hazards .Consequently they have intrinsic knowledge about a variety of environmental factors that can be encountered professionally. In 1992, the rate of occupational injury and illness for nurses in health care settings was 18.6% per 100 full time workers(18.2% accounted for injuries). According to the Bureau of labor Statistics, registered nurses rank sixth in occupations at high risk for muscular strains and sprains, particularly of the back, neck and limbs. the Bureau of labor statistics reports that nurses and health workers are one of the three occupations that suffer the most injuries requiring time away from the work in the United States. The bureau of Labor Statistics reported that U.S.Hospitals recorded close to 58,000 workplace injuries in 2013 nearly twice as high as the injury rate for private industry overall. Evidence based practices which are followed  are like use of mercury spillage kits, blood spillage kit and following of protocol measures based on the organization .Reviews that supports this issues are work place hazards faced by The change theory which can be applied for this issue is Health Behavior and workplace  Self Protective Behavior Model. The goodness of this theory is it conceptualizes self protective behavior as consisting of four stages : hazard appraisal, decision making, initiation and adherence. With these there are five general constructs identified as being primary or secondary importance at each stage which includes threat related beliefs, response efficacy, self efficacy, facilitating conditions and safety climate.Particular emphasis is also assigned to environmental or situational factors in enabling and reinforcing self protective behavior in the workplace. Thus thereby the issue related to work place hazards can be managed with the adoption  of this model in the work.As how the work is necessary and important for the person to lead a life, the safety of the person is also that important so it is the duty of every person to work with precaution and enjoy the best the working environment.
