Please help graph the following equation:

Q=7.3(1.012)

more data on the equation

We were asked to graph this equation:

In 2015, the population of the world was 7.3 billion people. In the last decade, population has increased approximately 1.2% per year. The current annual food supply is initially adequate for 11 billion people and is increasing at a constant rate adequate for an additional 0.4 billion people per year.

  1. Assuming the 2015 population count of 7.3 billion people as the initial population count and a recent (last 10 years) growth rate of 1.2% percent, answer the following:
    1. Is the growth pattern linear or exponential?

The population growth is Exponential because it increases the same relative amount each year.

  1. Write an equation to model the data where x = years past 2015 and y = total population in billions.

Equation would be Q=y(1.02)x

Final equation is Q = 7.3(1.02)x

Answer #1

Mark a few points from the equation in order to plot the graph Then we have y 7.3(1.012) Point (x,y 0 7.3(1.012) (0,7.3) = 7.50 (5,7.749) |(-20 5.751) (30 10.441) fo-7-3%0 100 -150 -50 50 100 150 -50
