Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

The complex ecosystems having certain soil and climatic conditions along with certain dominating plants and animals form a biome. The two biomes selected are Tropical rain forest and Desert.

Broad leaved evergreen trees and anacondas are dominant plant and animal species in tropical rain forest respectively. Cacti and desert lizard are dominant plant and animal species respectively of the desert.

Trees in the tropical rain forest are broad leaved. This forest receives very heavy rainfall and hence the amount of water uptake is very high by the trees. The tress need to expel out the extra water to maintain its internal osmotic balance and the broad leaves help to do so by the process of transpiration.

Cacti on the other hand are dominant plants in the desert. It barely has any leaf on its body. This modification helps the cacti to avoid the water loss via transpiration. The stem itself acts as the photosynthetic organ.

Anacondas are dominant in tropical rain forest. The anacondas require moist environment with some period of warmth. The marshy areas of tropical forest serve as the perfect dwelling places for the same.

Desert lizard has developed a special system of water collection. The dew drops that fall on its body are transported to its head via capillary movement. Thus, this adaptation compensates for the scarcity of water.
