Emotional disturbances are more common in children due to dependence nature and low understanding nature. The problems they face in the childhood, teenage, adolescence and also of different stresses develop a maladaptive behavior in them.
This is also due to less self understanding, improper development of the stable sense of identity and also because of the perceived threats they are more prone to psychological problems.
Emotional disturbances lead to the many problems that need to be treated. They can be prevented by giving care and treatment before the problem becomes worse. Other programs that deal with the intellectual disabilities of the children are advocacy programs.
